Rich A. Salas, Ph.D. serves as the Chief Diversity Officer at Des Moines University. In this important role, Dr. Salas is responsible for multicultural programming, and provides students/faculty/staff training in the area of cultural competency/cultural humility, as well as provides lectures across three colleges.

Reverend Eileen Gebbie is an ordained Christian priest in the United Church of Christ, currently serving a church in Ames. Her education includes degrees in sociology and divinity. Reverend Gebbie’s work has long emphasized structural racism. As a queer woman, her embodiment has been a challenge to homophobia and sexism.

Reyma McCoy McDeid is the executive director of Central Iowa Center for Independent Living and serves as treasurer and Anti-Racism and Equity Taskforce Co-Chair for the National Council on Independent Living. After a twenty year career in social services, her vocation has shifted from simply serving marginalized people to addressing how systems creates them in the first place.
