Bubba Southern Comforts is inspired by the family meals Chris enjoyed in his childhood in Texas, and the menu grew to extend to every corner of the foodie South. Specializing in Southern favorites and classic cocktails, Bubba offers a menu that is sure to please everyone – no matter where you hang your hat. Today, Chris will be showing us how to make a favorite at Bubba – the black bean burger.

Black Bean-Quinoq Burger (Vegan)
Chef Rob Urzal, Bubba – Southern Comforts

Ingredients: 
1 Red Pepper (diced)
1 Green Pepper (diced)
4 Cups Black Beans (mashed)
1 cup Rice Flour
1/4 cup Water
4.5 TBLS Cholula (or similar hot sauce)
1 TBLS Cumin
Salt & Pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Divide mixture evenly and form patties (3-4 inches in diameter)
Refrigerate patties for a minimum of 20 minutes to firm them up.
When ready to cook, pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 10 minutes.
On medium heat, toast the patties on a skillet or griddle pan to achieve a crunchy exterior.

Serve on a South Union Ciabatta with guacamole, lettuce, tomato and onion.
