For the third time in four years, Business Publications Corp. Inc., publisher of the Business Record, dsm and ia magazines and BPC Custom products, has been named one of Ten Publishers to Watch by Editor & Publisher (E&P) magazine. Published since 1901, E&P reports on all aspects of news media and multimedia news publishing and is widely considered the authoritative voice of the media industry. In 2020 and 2022, BPC was recognized for innovation and excellence during a time of disruption, including the pandemic and a volatile business climate. This year, BPC was specifically noted for ongoing digital transformation, product evolution, and a 40-year legacy of strength and stability through a changing journalism landscape. "This niche publishing company serving the business, cultural and philanthropic communities in Iowa’s capital city is growing, thriving, and staying nimble in a changing media landscape, laser-focused on meeting the evolving needs of its readers," said the E&P article announcing the 2024 list of Ten Publishers to Watch. • One name came up a number of times in responses to this year’s Business Record survey on gender equity in Iowa: Caitlin Clark. Several respondents noted the University of Iowa basketball star’s achievements among the biggest advancements for women in the last year. Nike launched an advertising campaign to acknowledge her contributions to the game, and in particular her ability to make long-range 3-pointers, with a tagline: “This was never a long shot.” But many survey respondents noted that achieving gender equity across the board does seem like a long shot. Women and nonbinary survey respondents on average believe women are only 51% of the way toward experiencing full equality with men due to inadequate workplace pay and benefits, health care imbalances and underrepresentation in leadership. There was a general theme from respondents: It's difficult to balance all the expectations put on women. See coverage of the survey here: #genderequity #empoweringwomen #workplaceinclusion #diversity #leadership

He's been involved with a number of initiatives to provide exposure and professional development experiences to students from minoritized backgrounds to business and STEM-oriented careers. He is the chief product officer at RainyDayPal. His biggest passion is "developing solutions that allow all people to address the uncertainty in their lives in a dignified manner, appropriate for the context of their lives. A paradox of insurance is that those who would benefit most on a marginal basis from its fundamental promise often have the most difficulty accessing it." https://lnkd.in/g4DCrAKj
