Dr. Sanjeeb Khatua named Chief Physician Executive for NorthShore – Edward-Elmhurst Health

Dr Khatua image NorthShore – Edward-Elmhurst Health today announced Dr. Sanjeeb Khatua will join the newly created Office of the Chief Physician Executive (CPE) as Chief Physician Executive. Dr. Khatua will partner with Co-Chief Physician Executives Dr. Joseph Golbus and Dr. Daniel Sullivan to establish the foundation and path for NorthShore – Edward-Elmhurst Health’s system-wide medical group strategy in partnership with physician leaders at each of the system’s nine hospitals. He will also collaborate with System Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Lakshmi Halasyamani to support the continued advancement of a clinically integrated network and the organization’s value-based care strategy. Dr. Khatua will join the organization in July.

Dr. Khatua is a board-certified family medicine physician and practiced with Edward Medical Group prior to ascending to multiple leadership roles within the organization. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive for Edward-Elmhurst Health until 2021 when he assumed his most recent position as President and CEO of Unity Point Clinic, a division of the UnityPoint Health System in Iowa. He earned his Master’s degree in Public Health from Loma Linda University, MBA in Healthcare Management from Loyola University Chicago and holds a medical degree from the Medical University of Silesia. He has been recognized by the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians and was selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the nation’s Top 25 Emerging Leaders in 2020.
